12/14/2014 | Business Litigation

Lawyers handling Syngenta cases filed in Kentucky and elsewhere learned the Panel on Multi-District Litigation has consolidated the cases in Syngenta MDL Transfer Order and assigned it to Judge John W. Lungstrum in Kansas.  This means Judge Lungstrum will control the initial pleadings phases and discovery phases of the cases.  While a number of the cases were filed as class actions, initially they will move forward as a single case under the direction of Judge Lungstrum.  You can read more about the difference between MDL litigation and class actions by reading our Mass Tort Class Action Page.
